FBT on Dress Expenses

I have incurred Expenses on Dress of my employees. It is not a uniform allowancce. Am I liable to pay FBT on value of this expense.

17 November 2008 Yes you are liable to FBT. If it is a statutory obligation to provide uniform , then it is not liable to FBT.

Not liable for FBT :

if it is statutory obligation:
Expenses incurred on providing safety shoes or uniform or equipments to the employees or for the purpose of reimbursement of washing charges.
