12 April 2012 Can I know what is excise duty rate of petrol with example

ie for one litre petrol how much should pay as excise duty and also please mention which schedule is included rate of duty

please mention in detail with example

12 April 2012 Dear Author,

At present, the government levies excise duty of Rs 14.45 for every litre of petrol for ur kind information noted that oil companies are losing over Rs 9 a litre by selling the auto fuel below the international price.

Noted that :
The excise duty on petrol was lowered by Rs 1 per litre in 2008 by the government when the international crude price had touched $135.
