Excise duty rate was 6.18%
now E.cess and S.H.E.C has been exempted vide notification no. 14/2015 and 15/2015
now what will be the Excise duty rate
6% or 6.5%
Please advise

RATE OF EXCISE DUTY WILL BE 6% ONLY. NO NEED TO CALCULATE EDU.CESSES ON DUTY.

if rate of duty was 6.18%

1. EDU. CESSES (BOTH) HAVE BEEN MERGED IN EXCISE DUTY. HENCE, NO NEED TO CALCULATE IT ON EACH RATE OF DUTY.
2. ONLY THE CHANGE IN DUTY @ 12% OR 12.36% NOT IN 6% OR 6.18%.
