Eligibility for appearing in final exam

Dear Sirs,
My friend is undergoing articleship from 30/09/2012 and he will eligible for May 2015 final exams.
He already passed Group I of IPCC and wait for the result of Group II of IPCC which was written in Nov 2014.
If there is a positive result, can he will eligible to appear for Final Exams in May 2015? Kindly clarify the issue.

if he has done his articleship and completed atleast 2 years and 6 months then yes eligible for may15 final exam.

But as per ICAI norms, the difference between the date of application of Final Course registration and Final Exams should be atleast 8 months. Is it true or not???
