Dear Experts,
Please ell me if I have a furniture of rs. 30000/- from 2006-2007 in my business and I am not charging dep. till 2008-2009. Do I charge dep. from now or not ? If yes then what amount I have to charged on Furniture & fixtures ?

from the A.Y. 02-03 Dep. under sec. 32(1)will be available whether or not the assessee has claimed, the ded'n for dep. while computing his total income.
30000-3000-2700-2430=21870 now u can claim rs. 2187/- as dep in current year
