Delay in filing of excise return er1 by one day

I want to know if delay filing of ER1 by one day whether any penalty provision is there in excise rule. ER 1 no tax liability and no stock production. Pl.confirm whether panalty need to be paid by self or we need do stay and get communication to pay panalty. as per my know late filling of excise eeturn attract Rs. 100 per day. or maximum rs.20000. Pl confirm.

If return has been filed after due date then penalty will be imposed of Rs. 100/- per day under rule 12(6) of the Central Excise Rules, 2002.
