21 October 2012 what is the defination of branded and unbranded in respect of excise because we are manufacturer of readymade garments.

21 October 2012 brand name‖ means a brand name,
whether registered or not, that is to say, a name or a mark, such as a symbol, monogram, label, signature or invented words or any writing which is used in relation to a product, for the purpose of indicating, or so as to indicate, a connection in the course of trade between the product and a person using such name or mark with or without any indication of the identity of that person. https://www.cbec.gov.in/ub1213/ce12-2012.pdf

22 October 2012 A brand is a "Name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one seller's good or service as distinct from those of other sellers." Branding began as a way to tell one person's cattle from another by means of a hot iron stamp. A modern example of a brand is Coca Cola which belongs to the Coca-Cola Company.

Marque or make are often used to denote a brand of motor vehicle, which may be distinguished from a car model. A concept brand is a brand that is associated with an abstract concept, like breast cancer awareness or environmentalism, rather than a specific product, service, or business.
