Deduction under house property income

can anyone guide me whether VAT & Service tax paid on purchase of a house (construction is ongoing) is eligible to deduct from the house property income ? Assessee is a salaried employee & getting HRA benefit too.

No. It is not an allowable expenses. This amount will enhance the value of the property.
