Deduction from salary

10 February 2012 Very urgent please help me
One of the employee left our company with out any notice period.As per our company policy we will deduct 15days salary from his total salary.He has the following dues from the company.
Earned Leave : 18000
Bonus : 8000
Salary : 3000
We need to deduct Rs.16000 from his account because of not giving the notice one month before.How we have to treat the Rs.16000 in our books of accounts.

10 February 2012 In case the amount of 18000+8000+3000 is being debited to respective expenses account heads by crediting the employee, the notice salary deducted may be debited to the employee by crediting Notice Salary A/c or Salary A/c.

11 February 2012 if the employee joins middle of the year in the company for TDS purpose whether we need to consider his total accrued salary in the previous organisation or only salary amount paid to the employee by the previous employer
