Is a member of the institute of The ICAI exempt from obtaining CPE hours in the first year of membership. Eg. I have cleared my CA in MAy 2011 and obtained membership in august 2011. Am I exempt for CPE in the current year? If so till when am I exempt?

Exemption is available for the first calendar year of member ship.
