07 February 2014 I have sent the revakidation application . what date should I mention in the exam application form either submission of the application or some thing else please help me

07 February 2014 in such case mention the old date as still u have just applied and not got official letter from icai.

08 February 2014 Please reply as to whether CSR is applicable for private companies as per the new act because in draft rules, the Indepndent Directors are to be appointed only by certain class of public companies & listed companies. Also CSR provisions mandates formation of CSR comitteee which should consist of INDEPENDENT DIRECTORS?

21 July 2025 Yes, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is applicable to private companies under the Companies Act, 2013, subject to certain financial thresholds.

✅ CSR Applicability (Section 135 of Companies Act, 2013)
CSR provisions apply to every company, including:

Private companies

Public companies

Foreign companies having a branch/project in India

If the company meets any one of the following criteria during the immediately preceding financial year, it must comply with CSR provisions:

Net worth of ₹500 crore or more, or

Turnover of ₹1,000 crore or more, or

Net profit of ₹5 crore or more.

👥 CSR Committee – What about Private Companies?
Normally, CSR Committee must have 3 or more directors, with at least one independent director.

However, private companies (not required to appoint independent directors) are exempt from this requirement.
➤ In such cases, the CSR Committee can consist of just 2 directors.
