Convertion from proprietorship to partnership firm

Can anyone say, as i am registered under Tamil nadu vat as proprietorship, but now i want to convert it into partnership firm. whether TIN no will remain same.
If it is not possible suggest the solution.

Yes you can convert your constitution from Proprietorship to partnership by having same TIN no. Fill the registration form and submit all the required documents and get RC
