30 September 2009 We have received letter from Service Tax Dept. towards CAA, and submit the details of computer hardware and software to fill in attached "Survey of Computer Installation and Accounting System used by the Assessee" and "CAA Assistance Forms". The information asking through this form, lot of information for computer and accounting system.

But, we have only Building Rental income only. There is no other business for this Service. We have only a small computer and tally accounting package only.

What can we produce the data, is it compulsory. Please give clarification.

03 October 2009 Information asked for has to be provuided. Pl ask for a NOn Disclosure Agreement from the DCCE/ DST to the effect that the information on tally will not be disclosed to thrid parties. Once you recive the same you would have to provdie the same.
You may also address a letter to the dept that you are paying ST on building rent which anyway is not a subject amtter of levy as per the Delhi High Court case appealed to the SC.
