23 April 2012 under works contract act while filling St 3 error is coming " Taxable rate is not valid "
under works contract on materials 4.12 % of service tax is charged and 10.3 percent on labor is charged??? how to fill ST3 for service providers coming under compostion scheme

23 April 2012 If u opt composition scheme you have to levy and pay service tax @ 4.12% on entire contract. In other words, u can't bifurcate material and labour separately to levy different tax rates. Seems the error appeared is on account of this bifurcation.
