Company deductee vs non company deductee

Quick Summary

TDS category depends on deductee status. Employees and contractors are non company deductees. Payments to a company are treated as company deductee, usually identified by PAN with C as fourth character.

07 May 2015 A is a Company. When paying TDS, what should be checked? Company Deductee or Non Company Deductee for the following scenarios?

Case 1: It is paying the TDS for its employees.

Case 2: It is paying the TDS for its Contractor

Case 3: It is paying TDS as part of a payment done to another company.

07 May 2015 you need to check status of the deductee. Only for PAN with C as fourth character, TDS will be deposited as Company Deductee.

07 May 2015 So in Case 1, where I am paying the combined TDS of all employees, it is NON Company Deductee? Since none of the employees will have 4 character of PAN as C.
