For AY 2010-11, I had filed ITR-4 (due to income from profession). For AY 2011-12, however, I have filed ITR-1. I did this because I had no income to declare as I started PhD studies with income from scholarship that is exempt. However, I realised that I did have some income (below the minimum slab) that I should have declared. So, I should have actually filed ITR-4. But, unfortunately, I filed the ITR-1 already (after the last date).
Can any of the experts please tell me what are the options available for me? Especially because, I am not in India for the next two months (am abroad for my PhD studies). I have kept details of the income and expenditure with me.

In that case, I will advise you to let bygones by bygones and simply move on. You can make sure that hereon you file correct returns and in case you feel that your previous year's undeclared income needs to brought on record, you may do so next year as this year's option of revised return is not available to you.
Since the same was anyways not taxable (being under the maximum exemption limit), it doesn't matter much.
