Challan correction approval

13 June 2024 i mistakenly paid advance tax as self ass. tax in the challan. I filed correction request for change of a.y and minor head [advance tax(100)] through efiling portal.
Now:
1. How much time does it take for getting challan correction request approved?
2. in the meantime, should i pay another challan for advance tax liability (in case challan correction does not get approved by 15th june) ?

13 June 2024 1. It takes about 15/20 days, sometimes even more.
2. Yes, if you wish. As the tax would be available for adjustment in next quarter.

13 June 2024 What will be the date of payment once this challan correction gets approved?
1. the date of original challan, or
2. the date of approval of the correction.

14 June 2024 Though the date of challan doesn't get changed, but system gets credited on the date of approval.
