CENVAT CREDIT AND SERVICE TAX

This query is : Resolved

10 August 2008 Hi...

Can the output service provider, providing both taxable and non-taxable service, avail the credit of excise duty paid on the input goods?

Assuming he is not maintaining separate accounts regarding the consumption of input goods in each service.

27 August 2008 Keep separate record or pay 10% on the clearance of exempted or reverse proportionate credit as per rule 6 formula.

for any question on excise/servicetax/custom etc i may be contacted at arbindaggarwal@yahoo.com

27 August 2008 Thnx........

it means that rule related to utilisation of excise duty paid on input goods , will be same irrespective of the fact whether such input goods are used in manufacturing goods or in providing output service.
