Dear Sir,
my father expire on November-2010 , now i have to close his pan card but i haven't original or xerox copy of pan card.
only PAN card number is available. so how can i close it.
please give me suggestion.

Basically there is NO any provision to CANCELL the PAN......It is unique.
What you do is INTIMATE under registered A.D. to the concerned authority of Income tax. Do attach the death certificate to this intimation.
From know your jurisdiction, you can find out the concerned ITO address
