Can get benefit of basic exemption of rs. 10 lakh

12 July 2012 respected sir,

here is my question that the service provider getted himself registered voulantary.

current year is his first year of regeistration now he wants to take benefit of Rs. 10 lakhs as this benefit is a general benefit available to all in the first year.

so, please reply me that after voulantary registration can assessee claim general exemption of rs. 10 lakh or he has to charged the service tax from rs. 1 onwards?

please reply me as soon as possible & if possible please explain in detail.

12 July 2012 He can claim the benefit of Rs. 10 lakhs, it has nothing to do with registration and ST shall be charged only after the limit crosses rs. 10 lakhs

bt sir i heared from someone dat if you get voulantary registration than at the time of registration you were specify that you are surrendering all your available exemption.

can you pls explain for the same
