Can avail 2 housing loan

Sir(s),
My friend has borrowed a housing loan from a bank for consutruction of a house and paid the EMI regularly and claims the same in his IT return. Last year he also borrowed another load from other bank for renovation of the same house. Now our query is can he claim both the loan in his IT return? Kindly advise us.

Both loan can be considered for claiming interest u/s 24(b), but 1st loan only will be considered for deduction u/s 80C.
