calculation of CG/ CL on the basis of fifo method of share

This query is : Resolved

08 August 2010 dear all,

there is no records of shaers purchased - regarding date of purchase. few shares of same company sold on 20.7.10. can i consider fifo method for calculating capital gain or loss?

Thanks in advance

Regards
sushil.

08 August 2010 The shares which are held in demat A/c can only be considered for FIFO method. Other than those no. If u r share certifiate is loss get confirmed from company.

08 August 2010 for calculating the capital gain u need to follow only FIFO method...

if u do not ve the purchase date and value u can look at the demat statement wer u can get the purchase date and if it held for more than one year and sold through recognised stock exchange then i think purchase value is not important since u ve held it for more than 1 year
