under which head cheque pending for encashment is to be shown in balance sheet

U can show it under cheque in hand under current Assets (Bank).

it means we have to show balance in balance sheet as per actual balance not as per our cash book and have to do adjustment in B/S of all the difference in our cash book and as per bank??

Yes u must show the actual balance in ur balance sheet. U must transfer all the cheques pending to b cleared(whether payment/receipt or contra) on last date (31st march normally) to cheque in hand, and also have to tally BRS as per Bank Statements.
