Is Stipend Received is Taxable Income?

Is Stipend eceived by Articles is a Taxable Income?
If so the under what head?
Principal and Articles Doesn't have a Employee - Employer Relationship!!!!!

1.My Principal Says Taxable under Salaries.
2.My Senior Who is also a chartered accountant says not taxable..
3.My Cousin who is practising chartered accountant says it is taxable under income from other sources..

Many has agreed the 3rd option..

Can any body clarify this by justifying your answer with web links?

Tds as benefit

i m not geting the concept of tds. when we deduct tds the person who is paying the tds for that person its an exp & the person for whom it is deducted will so it as an tds on receipt and we take the benefit of that.so ultimatly the the tax paid is taken as benefit then whats going in to the hand of govrnment.

Hello Friends,

We have received some moulds Free of Cost from our overseas customer for supplying their components manufactured from their moulds. We have debited the custom duty paid by us on those moulds to that party. We have not taken any Cenvat Credit of CVD involved in those moulds.
Kindly clarify :
1) Whether we should account those moulds in our books since those moulds belongs to that party ?
2) And how should we send back those moulds to that party ? What will be the Excise and customs implications ?
