Capital Gain

In a case,
1)a landlord gives a property on rent to a trust.
2)Property is rented for last 10 years without any agreement.
3) Now landlord wants to sale the property and trust is asking for compensation for renouncing rights.
4) out of sale consideration of 30 lakhs lanlord is paying 10 lakhs to trust as compesation.
5)what is the treatment of Compesation and what will be capital gain?
please suggest your answers???

Housing loan

If I & my wife (both working) stand as co-applicants only (not owners of the house) to a housing loan to be taken by my Brother-in-law & my sister (again both working), then can me & my wife claim Tax benefits for Interest & Principal amounts paid by we two towards the above loan? if yes, then are there any criteria?

Prior period or not.... solve.

Income tax provision for AY 2008-09 is 2,00,000/- & it was paid in AY 2009-10 including Interest under 234,A,B,C of Rs.20,000/-.
I want to know that Rs.20,000/- is prior period or not.
whether it is allowed or not?

if any service provider makes invoice for any party which has following item

Total SErvice Charge(value of goods+service charge):- 10000
Vat 4% :- 400
What will be the service tax charged by service provider. if value of goods is not determined by him.

Can a Company maintain its Excise Registers Like PLA, DSA, RG 23A RG 23C Etc in Excel sheets in Computer? Any supporting notification/case law will be of gr8 help.

Sec 40A(3)

Whether applicabilty of sec 40A(3) is valid in case of purchase/sale of goods in ordinary course of business,means if some one receive cash more than 20000/- on account of sale to some trader.
