26 June 2009 After demise of male member (KARTA) of HUF, can female member ( wife or duaghter)be KARTA of HUF ?. What about operation of bank account and immovable property.What is law applicable in Maharashtra.

27 June 2009 Yes, as per latest amendments in Hindu Succession Law, a female member can also be a Karta of HUF.
