A Non-Resident having Term Deposit in Nationalised bank. Amount brought in foreign currency.

and he has other income of Short Term Capital Gain (U/s.111A - 15%)..



TDS deducted on STCG at 15% under saction 195.



I have two issues:

1. Whether interest earned on FD are taxable to non resident?

2. Can STCG income(Special Rate Income) can be shifted to Basic Exemption limit of Rs.160000/- in case of NR also?

Hi i have passed CS Final Exam in DEC 2009, And I wrote my ca final exam for third time in nov 2010. I am not very sure of my results.
i want to choose between CA & CS . I have the following thing in mind :

1. I will take up CS as My carrier and quit CA

2. Wait uptill the results of Ca final and than take decision

3. Continue CA.

Kindly suggest me what should i do?

When can an IPCC student having passed both groups be eligible to appear for ca final exam.I heard that as per the recent notification student of Ipcc are eligible to appear for ca final exam after completing 2 years of article training.

Dear Sir,

I am a student of ipcc in CA and beside this i am intersted in doin CS , but the matter is that the both training will clash. so can we do trainin of cs after completing cs as this trainin is for shorter period, i suppose it is for 15 months, as compared to ipcc which is for 3 yrs.

What should i do?
