what is the eligibility criteria for a chartered accountant to have article trainees....can a newly qualified CA train articles..pls reply

02 December 2010 Hello sir A K SAH, as far as i can recall my knowledge, i think a CA holding COP should have atleast 2.5 years of experience of practice... I'm sorry if i'm incorrect, do clarify this...

3years -1 article
upto 5 yrs - 3
upto 10 yrs - 7
more than 10 yrs - 10

03 December 2010 Yes, you are right.

There is a proposal with the Institute that a CA in practice should not take articles for training exceeding 7.

This was confirmed by SIRC member.
Still under consideration....... not confirmed
