Guidance on b.com and ca

My Son is in his XII Std and has taken to commerce stream with his interest to pursue CA. While it is a general belief and a distinct possibility the B.Com and CA can be pursued simultaneously , I am writing to seek expert opinion on the following :

1.First of all is it a good idea to pursue both together ?

2. What are the advantages as well as the challenges involved if any ?

3. If your advise is to pursue both simultaneously , which is the best option for B.Com - Regular or by distant learning ?

There are many opinions floating around and I wish to take your expert opinion to take an informed decision

Thanks in anticipation and a very happy and prosperous New year to all the members of the CA Club

Our MVAT registration is from 29/11/2011 but the first sales executed by us is on 27/11/2011 by single bill of Rs. 850000/

Pl. advise ,whether VAT needed to be charged on said invoice ? and if so , whether buyer will get the set off or it will be considered as URD purchase ?
