Dear Sir,

The investor is an NRI. There are multiple investment in the same MF in one scheme. The investments in MF have been redeemed within a year. There is gain on only one transaction and loss on other transactions at the time redemption (All units or entire investment amount). If we see overall there is a loss to the investor. But transaction level, there is short term capital gain for one transaction.

We have taxed @30% (Short Term Capital Gain Tax) on transaction where there is a gain.

The query is do we need to consider overall loss or gain / transaction level gain or loss

Thanks & Regards

Suresh

Elss v/s pf

Dear Experts ,

My query is in relation to the tax saving investment. I have to make some investments in 80-C, to save taxes.

Now, the markets are quite high as described by many investors and as per information available on m any websites. I am not an expert of calculating valuation of market. So i am not sure what the websites or experts say that is truth or not, but still i am relying on what they say. ELSS has short lock in period.

Now PPF is a very safe asset and can give a normal return. But experts say that interest rates will go down in future.

Kindly guide what to choose. As i don't want to loose my hard earned money if the stock market goes down . Also i don't want to loose an opportunity if it goes up.

Will appreciate if someone can guide

Thanks
Akshay

Aadhar linking with demat account

About 10 Years back, bank account as well as Demat/Trading Account was opened by giving full name mentioning Surname also. In the Pan Card data, name with and without Surname was given but the name on Pan Card is without Surname. However there had been no problem of linking bank account and Demat/Trading account with Pan card as full name with surname is available in the Pan Card data.
However in Aadhar Card only one name was to be given so Name without Surname was given. Hence on Aadhar Card the name without Surname appears.. Now while linking Aadhar Card with Demat/Trading account it was not done due to mismatch in name.
Please advise as to how this problem can be resolved. The name on Aadhar can not be changed now as it is already linked to other accounts where no mismatch in name is.
