Does it make any difference if stock of finished goods shown in RG-1 register varies from the stock of the same goods shown in balance sheet, if yes so and what are the consequences if the same if found by Excise Department.
For Example:

Input of import duties paid

An importer is importing some material and paid custom duties and other duties.
And he sell the material without any processing on it, to the Indian manufacturer.
I want to ask whether the importer can claim input of any duty paid? And if he avail credit, how can he, whether he needs to get registered under excise?

Branded goods

I am a brand owner. I purchase goods from various manufacturer/trader. I send packing material of my brand to them. They sell goods to me and in turn I sell to ultimate customer.

In this case only real manufacturer is liable to pay excise duty or I shall also be liable to pay exside duty on purchases.
