Arrears of family pension

One of my clients is getting family pension. As you all are aware that while calculating relief under section 89 the income of previous years to which the arrear relates has to be considered.My client is a housewife and she had no income in these previous years. My query is that the income of previous years which is to be considered has to be of my client or her husband who is no more.
