13 September 2012 i heard that the ICSI has been planning to implement apprenticeship for 3years duration instead of 15 months as applicable currently. whether it is true ? if so then whether it will be applied prospectively or retrospectively.

Yes, you are right, the Institute are planning to extend the training period from 15 months to 3 years in near future. The Institute has proposed such news in Chartered Secretary few months back. Till date it is not in force.
