Applicabilty of service tax and tds

09 April 2015 Hi ,

our organisation took printer cum scanner on monthly hire basis.

Ealier the vendor did not charge any service tax on that.
But suddenly in Apr 2015 bill (i.e;Bill For Mar 2015 Month) he charged service tax @ 12.36% . Is this correct.? Do we need to pay ST on this.? and the vendor changed his PAN from firm to person

And I think TDS is not applicable on rent as the rent we pay is less than Rs 6000/- per month . Is my view correct ..?
please suggest..

09 April 2015 r u sure these details are correct... its quite confusing in mah view...

he convereted pan of firm to indivdual and started charging service tax now...

yes he can charge service tax in last month if he got liable for service tax in this last month no isseus...

just ask for his service tax no...

and yes tds is not applicable

09 April 2015 Is TDS is applicable ,if we took 3 machines on monthly renatl basis and monthly rental charges together Rs 16500/- for 3 machines..? Please suggest.

10 April 2015 yes it wil b applicable dear....!!! because it wil cross the yearly limits.. so tds applicable
