04 June 2009 Is service tax applicable to aviation industry,i am conducting audit of a govt owned aviation company,but i dont see service tax charged on their bills,please respond.

05 June 2009 Its a company that leases out its helicopters,to state govts during elections,provides helicopter service to remote locations.Basically it entersw into a contract for leasing out its choppers to clients and receives payments at regular intervals.It can be said that they have rental income through plying of helicopters.
