21 January 2013 During deduction of TDS on salary, employee failed to provide the Documents relating to uniform allowances. Now when he is filing Income Tax returns, he claim the same amount as allowance exempted as he has the proof with supporting evidence of the usage of such allowance. Is it a valid stand? Also his package says flexible allowances then can he claim professional development allowance, attire allowance, helper allowance??

30 August 2013 yes. incase allowance allowable under Income tax which not consider by employer, employee can claim in return if he has the proper documents
