Acknowledgement lost, what to do ?

a new client has come to us for filing the income tax return. he has acknowledgements upto a.y. 2009-10. and his return for a.y. 10-11(belated) has also been filed but the person who has filed his return for a.y. 10-11 left the city peramanetly.
he want three years return for home loan. what should i do ?

The only way out is to approach the ITO ward and ask him to search his records.. (its very difficult next to impossible..).. but no other way.. if its filed online.. you could download the ITR.
