About date of commencement of business of a company

06 August 2011 I Have a problem in identify the date of commencement of business of a company and my issue on this point is that "A company start to make it's purchases from outsiders but there is no sales made by Company further company start to writteoff it's pre-operative expenses. in case how i can identify the business commencement date of company
OR
can we considered that " first purchase made my company is it's business commencement date

And also with give me example to understand this

06 August 2011 Date of certificate of commencement of business is date of COB in above case from date of purchase. Question seems to be incomplete in what respect.

08 August 2011 sorry for give you half information and the Case is "company is a real estate(private limited) company and company start to make it's purchases of land since last three year but still there is no sales made by company " now further company start to writteoff its pre-operative expenses i e expenses of purchase of land, and in this case i have a problem in identifying the date of commencement of business and other informed you that the all above process start after obtaining certificate of incorporation
