04 July 2012 I am a retired Public Sector employee. My income include Interest of postoffice Senior Citizen Scheme, Fixed Deposits, lecture fees for delivering lectures in a training institute for couple of days in a month, share dividends,etc.

Kindly let me know as to which I.T.Return form should I use for filing my I.T. return.

04 July 2012 ITR 4 should be used. If you are a professional then lecture fees will be your professional income then you should file ITR4.

04 July 2012 Thank you experts. However, both views are different. Hence, may I seek further clarifications from both of you as to which ITR would be relevant. Lectures are only for a couple of days in a month please.

I would be thankful if other experts also give their views please.

05 July 2012 Lecture receipts are taxable as business income.

However, if the amount of receipts is very less, then you can show such income as Income from Other Sources.

In this case, you will file ITR 2.
