23 December 2013 IF I ST-1 FILE TODAY, CAN I GO VCES SCHEME, BECAUSE ST-2 RECEIVED IN 7 DAYS, THE WHEN WE FILE VCES-1 AND PAY 50% TAX, WITHOUT ACKNOWLEDGE VCES-2, PLESE REPLY

23 December 2013 1) The prime requirement of VCES is that you should have service tax registration prior to making of an application (under VCES)

you can try to expedite on ST2 saying that you want to apply under VCES

2) after getting ST2 and applying under VCES (VCES-1) but prior to receiving acknowledgement in VCES-2, you can make 50% payment. That is permissible (as per circular no 174 dated 25/11/2013 the Service tax Department has been advised to accept all the applications even though there are technical defects)
