21 September 2011 We manufacture a device for aiding communication to the speech disabled, autism affected people. We would like to know what percentage of VAT and CST to be charged on this device. Right now we are charging 14.5% which we are not sure.

Genrally,such aids used by handicaapped persons are exempt(in Karnataka they are Exempt) in all states.Check up with the tax schedules and notifications of your state. If not, your charging of 14.5% is correct.
