16 February 2011 4 % in Kerala as per KVAT Act,2003.

02 August 2025 Hey! About VAT rates for LED lighting products:
Kerala: 4% (as per KVAT Act, 2003)
Other States: VAT rates vary by state, but many states have a standard VAT rate around 4% to 5% for LED products, since they’re often classified under electrical goods.
There isn’t a single uniform VAT rate across all states because VAT is state-specific in India. Some states may have special concessional rates or exemptions depending on local policies or promotion of energy-efficient products.
