Vat and cst

This query is : Resolved

30 March 2015 we sold 1 machine which we had purchased from a registered dealer out of maharashtra and modified a bit and sold it to the client. we charged 12.5% vat to the client on our gross amount. i want to clarify 1 thing - the device which we purchased from the registered dealer , who will charge the cst and vat on it? will he charge it in his bill? normally the buyer will issue c form so. and also when we sell it to our client out of maharashtra then do we have to charge cst and vat both on gross amount ?

30 March 2015 if you are purchasing it out of the state, the seller wilcharge anyone of cst.. if you providing c form that cst wil b at concessional rates else ful rate will apply

now when u wil sale, if its outside state u need to charge cst on bill, and that cst depends on c form or without c form

usually when a part a party issues c form, cst wil b charged at concessional rate

else full rate equivalent to vat rat is charged

30 March 2015 thanks a lott. now this concept is cleared. is the cst rate 2% (common for all ) if we issue c forms?

30 March 2015 nopes.. it depends on state to state... and on goods... as in delhi on some goods we purchased its 1%

so u can check it in ur state... common rate is 2%

30 March 2015 one more additional suggestion.. while purchasing goods from outside state, always check that does entry tax is applicable or not on that goods in ur particular state...

30 March 2015 thanks and how to check for entry tax? is it that they charge while entering it in Maharashtra? will that also differ from state to state?

30 March 2015 nah.. the party wil not charges for entry tax. its the liability of purchaser....

you need to check the list of items in maharasthra on which entry tax applicable
