03 January 2009 Sir,

I am getting medical exp reimbursement from my employer upto 15000/- per year.

Can i also get a benefit for mediclaim premium for me ?

Also, can I get additional benefit of mediclaim premium paid for my senior citizen father ?

03 January 2009 Yes you can get the benefit of mediclaim which is covered under Sec 80D.

04 January 2009 medica reimbursement is exampt to the limit of Rs.15,000( this is not p.a)

u can also get the deduction rs.15,000 inrespect of medical insureance u/s 80D

This limit would be rs.20,000/- if any of the family member ( parents) is senior citizen
