Unpaid dividend

11 February 2012 if the company receives a letter from a shareholder regarding a payment of unpaid dividend then what should the company do as the company have already transferred the amount to an unpaid dividend account , how should we approach to these or need to contact the bank where it is deposited., please reply, its urgent

Please consult your Bank with which Dividend Account was open. They will send you paid and unpaid dividend list for your information and knowledge.

On the basis of bank records you can check the actual status of the dividend payment of that shareholder.

13 February 2012 Thanks for reply, but the problem is that we are getting a letter from a shareholders that due to change address and due to expiry of validity period od DD they are unable to get the dividend so that whom we need to approach directly to a baank where we have deposited a unpaid dividend amount or somewhere else, please reply.

15 February 2012 Hi,

After the expiry of validity period of DD you may refer to bank to issue fresh cheque/DD in the Shareholder name and send the same to the current address of the shareholder.
