Can office wear allowance be treated as uniform allowance? If a company is paying office wear allowance and there is no specific uniform for any employee, can such allowance be exempted against shopping bills of cloths used to buy cloths which employee wear in office.

ya it can be covered as there is nothing to suggest in the act that there should be a specific common dress to be eligible for unform allowance!!

depends on what sort of shopping bills they are?? If a female employee submits a bill for lehanga, then it might not work!! a employee giving a bill for dhoti kurta where the dress code is English Formals may not work...
