I have a Query regarding u/s 80D of Income tax Act.

If an employee having medical insurance policy u/s 80D for Rs. 10 K & also he had spend for Preventive health checkup for Rs.5k . then both deduction are allowed u/s 80D which maximum limit of Rs. 15K

05 January 2013 Preventive health check-up cost up-to 5000/- is eligible under Section 80D (Within 15000/- limit). (Added by Finance bill-2012)

Therefore, Total Deduction of Rs. 15000/-shall be available in your case.

preventive health check up fee is allowed max 5000. So if in your Q premium is 9k and preventive fee is 6k then only 14k allowed.
