Typo in ITR V

19 July 2011 Hi,

After uploading the xml file and generating the ITR V, I found that there is a typo in the name of city. It got submitted as "JAUPUR" instead of "Jaipur".

What should I do. Is it Ok if I correct it after taking the printout of ITR -V and send it. I guess there is no need to file any revised return.

19 July 2011 Do not correct in hard copy of ITR-V. No need to revise the return. You will get the acknowledgement in e-mail provided id is correct. Intimation will be getting by post ,as well, if the PIN code given is correct. Subject to this, leave the matter as it is.
