13 November 2015 One of our client wants to purchase two lands cost each Rs.40 lakhs executing two purchase deeds from one person. Whether he must deduct tax u/s 194-IA for the above each transaction.

13 November 2015 Vexed issue. My understanding is the phraseology 'any immovable property' in 194IA is to be viewed 'singularly' and the transferee (buyer) need not deduct tax.
