Tds return correction statement

20 May 2014 salary details (SD) of AY 13-14 for Q4 captured non taxable employees details in quarterly statement. Those emploees PAN was not available in the statment. Now demand has been raised to pay tax @ 20% on the salary paid to such employees even though their salary is below slab of 2.00 lacs per anum. to correct this, deletion of such employees SD from statement will solve the issue or is there any other way of doing this? pls guide

20 May 2014 Yaar y did u submitted it without PAN. As per CBDT circular 20% TDS will b deducted in absence of PAN. Now u must have to pay the amount.

20 May 2014 you wont be able to delete the records from the tds return. the only way avoid tds laibility is to submit certificate under proviso to section 201(1) in Form 26A.
